Quick & Easy Beef Ramen Stir-Fry

Ingredients
  

  • Main Ingredients:
  • 2 packets ramen or other instant noodles discard seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon oil
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil or more oil
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • ½ onion sliced
  • 200 g / 7oz beef mince ground beef
  • 1 ¼ cups 315 ml water, plus more as needed
  • Big handful of bean sprouts
  • Sauce:
  • 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce or Hoisin sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Hoisin sauce or more oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon mirin
  • Garnishes optional:
  • Finely sliced green onions shallots
  • Sesame seeds

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Noodles: Boil ramen noodles according to package instructions, but slightly undercook them (about 1 minute less than instructed). Drain and set aside.
  • Cook the Beef: Heat 1 teaspoon oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add onion and sauté for 1-2 minutes until softened. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and cooked through (about 3-4 minutes).
  • Make the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, Hoisin sauce, and mirin.
  • Combine Everything: Add 1¼ cups water to the pan and bring to a simmer. Add the cooked ramen noodles and sauce, stirring well to coat everything evenly.
  • Final Touches: Toss in bean sprouts and cook for another 30 seconds, adding more water if needed to loosen the sauce.
  • Garnish & Serve: Remove from heat and top with green onions and sesame seeds, if desired. Serve immediately.
